Lecture 1-Renaissance
What was the renaissance?
The renaissance was a period in the Middle Ages that was surrounded by war and plagues. Many of the brightest writers, scientists and artists came from this period of time and thrived during this era. This was also the time where a movement called "Humanism" they promoted the ideas of how man was the center of their own universe. They also wanted man kind to be able to embrace their own human achievements.
Discuss 2 major contributions of the advancement of art or science
Artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci incorporated human anatomy into his paintings to recreate the human body with extreme precision. "Renaissance art was characterized by realism and naturalism. Artists strived to depict people and objects in a true-to-life way." They were also able to use techniques such as shadows and light, perspective which helped with showing depth into their work.
