Film 2: Pollock
He talks about how much painting has been modernized and how much it has changed over time and then depending on the artists and how everyone wants to have something that makes them what they are. He also wants to tell people that these new artists want to make a statement with their art because that is what separates them from other artists. This changes my experience with art because it only shows me what I already think and that is that every artist has something that they would like to have as their own way of setting themselves apart from others. It doesn't bother me that they showed his downfall because it could teach other people what not to do in order to get to the place that he fell under.
Macho modernism was when people after the second world war were painting things to look like they were macho. This was also a time where men weren't really seen as being able to be artists because it wasn't macho and it didn't show what men were supposed to be like.
